The mission of the Spencer S. Eccles Health Sciences Library is to advance education, research, and health care through information access, service and innovation. The library serves the University of Utah community, the citizens of the State of Utah and of the Internet. The Library is located south of, and adjacent to, the School of Medicine. See the map of the Health Sciences Center. The Director of the Library is Jean Pugh Shipman.
Finding Library Materials
The Library Catalog
is an online database of materials - print, electronic or multimedia - owned by the Eccles Library. It
contains records of books, journal titles, audiovisuals, theses, reserve items, government documents and
multimedia located at the Eccles Library, the Hope Fox Eccles Clinical Library, and libraries which are
members of the Utah Health Sciences Library Consortium (UHSLC).
The Library includes three levels. Public restrooms are located on the 1st and 3rd levels. The 3rd floor (upper level) houses all the books. The entrance and exit to the building is on west side of the 2nd floor (main level.) The upper two levels are open to study and quiet space. Public computers and service desk are located on 2nd or main level. All physical print collections are located in the basement.
